Safety is a core value at Pioneer Steel and PSI Crane & Rigging. Meeting the standards is not just enough at PSI; exceeding the standard is expected at all times. Our employees are our number one resource and keeping them safe is our number one job. Safety is the job of everyone working at PSI! Every employee at PSI is a member of our safety team.

Preplanning is the key to a safe project. Every job has a full hazard analysis performed. The Safety Director and Project Managers use those results to develop a Site Specific Safety Plan.

Fall protection is a major component of our safety policy.   Federal regulations allow for steel erectors to work at heights of up to twenty five feet without being tied off. At PSI we tie-off 100% of the time when working at heights greater than six feet.

PSI employs a Safety Director that is involved in the training of all employees. Every employee receives extensive training at the time of hire which continues throughout employment.

Pioneer Steel is a member of the Steel Erectors Safety Association of Colorado (SESAC), a leading safety organization and advocate for the safety of the steel erection industry across the nation. In addition, PSI’s Safety Director sits on the Board of Directors of SESAC. As an Advanced Certified Steel Erector, the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) insures that we have safety policies in place and in use.

PSI Crane is a member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) a leading international organization that specializes in safety and up to date regulations for the ever change lifting and transportation industry.

As a pro-active, progressive employer, PSI is dedicated to the development our employees and our safety program.

A critical step in any safety program is accountability.  PSI job sites are inspected weekly by management personnel. Monthly third party inspections are also conducted by Miller Safety.

The safety of our employees is considered to be the highest priority of Company business. We hope you feel the same way.
